We have created safe spaces and a mobile team to support children in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
VONA - career hub
Donor
VONA - is a Dnipro career and business hub for women
The "VONA hub" project in Dnipro is implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with the financial support of the government of Great Britain/the international development program of the government of Ireland and the implementation of the MARTIN club.
Works from July 8, 2022
The name of the hub consists of the first letters of 4 words - Free, Winged, Independent, Ambitious. The team works to make our clients feel exactly like that.
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO DOMESTIC / GENDER BASED VIOLENCE
Economic dependence is often the reason why women endure violence, because they do not have the opportunity to provide for themselves and their children. The career hub provides such an opportunity.
ABOUT GOALS AND OPPORTUNITIES
In "VONA Hub" you can get free individual confidential advice from a career counselor and help at all stages of job search or starting your own business, writing a grant application, consulting and psychological project support.
There is an opportunity to take professional courses that will help you acquire new knowledge, skills or even a profession. The career hub closely cooperates with social services, employment centers, businesses, promotes the transfer of knowledge to local partners, providing comprehensive support to clients and sustainability of the initiative.
The goal of the "VONA Hub" project is to develop the professional potential and financial capacity of women of vulnerable categories: those who have suffered from domestic / gender-based violence or are in a risk group, are forced migrants from dangerous or temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, have lost housing or work, etc. .
ABOUT THE HISTORY
The career hub project for women was created back in 2020 and worked only online on the website platform www.vonahub.org.ua. During this period, about 3,000 individual consultations were provided by career counselors. In connection with the full-scale invasion of Russia in February 2022, the number of women who are at increased risk of violence, have become IDPs, and do not have the technical opportunities to undergo training or write resumes has increased. Therefore, the project entered a new stage of development - the creation of local offline hubs.
