Ukraine - is a big European country with a complicated history and a strong Christian traditions. But seventy years of Soviet regime and the difficulties of the young nationleft its mark on the most vulnerable sections of society - children who are withoutfamily protection.
30 000 children living in orphanages in Ukraine, most of them - the older children andchildren with special needs. Another 250 000 children suffering from abuse and exploitation, and can get on the street or in a boarding school.
Every child is precious in God's eyes and is entitled to the protection, upbringing in a loving family and healthy development. In Ukraine there are 30 000 Christian churches, as well as hundreds of charitable organizations helping children across the country. It is time that the Christian community has the responsibility to unite efforts to help every child an orphan. Ukraine has the potential to save the poor children.
